With just a week to go until The Old Vine Conference (OVC) 2025, the international old vine movement is preparing for its biggest meeting to date, which will be live streamed from California.

Now in its seventh edition, The Old Vine Conference: Meeting of the Minds will run from 31 October to 4 November 2025 across Northern California, marking its second in-person gathering. For those unable to attend, free livestream registration is now open, offering remote access to headline panels, tastings and seminars.

The five-day event will unite growers, producers and thought leaders to explore the cultural, environmental and commercial future of old vine wines. This year’s conference is being held in partnership with Zinfandel Advocates & Producers (ZAP).

“California, with its unrivalled heritage of old vines, is the obvious place to celebrate the superiority of wine from these historic deep-rooted marvels, and to encourage their preservation,” said Jancis Robinson MW, who joins the line-up of keynote speakers alongside Paul Draper (Ridge Vineyards), Rosa Kruger (Old Vine Project, South Africa) and Dr Laura Catena (Catena Zapata).

Belinda Stone, director of the OCV, said the livestream initiative would help expand the movement’s reach.

“With free livestream access, we can share our mission to safeguard these invaluable old vines and elevate the value of the wines they yield on a truly global scale,” she said.

Rebecca Robinson, executive director of ZAP, added that the collaboration reinforces both organisations’ shared goals: “Protecting historic Zinfandel vineyards, many of which are old vines with deep heritage, is central to our mission, and we look forward to welcoming attendees to this crucial meeting of minds.”

The conference is supported by sponsors including California Wines/Wine Institute, Moşia Galicea Mare, Lodi Winegrape Commission, Feudi di San Gregorio, Vinchio Vaglio, Borgogno, Villa Bogdano 1880, and others.

Registration for the livestream and in-person attendance is available at oldvines.org/livestream-2025 and zinfandel.org/old-vine-conference-2025.
