Hard kombucha brand Better Sundays has appointed social health and happiness expert Claire Warner as its strategic advisor.
First launched in August 2025 by founder Tarek Moursi, the brand sits on the border of the drinks and wellness space with a liquid that combines the probiotic qualities of kombucha with a 3% abv content.
According to Moursi, speaking exclusively to Drinks Retailing, he formed the brand to bridge the two extremes in the UK drinks market.
“On one side you had the low & no category, which is great but doesn’t suit every occasion. On the other, mainstream alcohol that leaves you feeling, bloated and rough.
“There was nothing in the middle for people who still want a drink but want something lighter, better for them, and actually worth choosing. That’s the space we sit in,” he said.
Now, as the business begins to expand into the on-trade after having previously only been stocked in independents, Warner represents the next stage of growth.
An expert in social health and reframing social spaces, Warner brings over 20 years of experience in both the drinks and entrepreneurship worlds, during which time she has held positions at Diageo and Belvedere Vodka.
On her role, Moursi commented that Warner’s focus on social health reflects Better Sundays’ core value: that you shouldn’t have to choose between enjoying yourself and looking after yourself.
Warner added: “Social health is about the quality of our connections, and so much of that is built when we gather around a table, at a bar, or in someone’s kitchen. What’s in your glass matters more than people realise – that’s what drew me to Better Sundays. We’re at an exciting point in how people think about drinking and I wanted to be part of building what comes next.”
