Rémy Cointreau has announced a new leadership structure as part of a wider transformation plan, launched on Wednesday this week.
The French spirits group, which is operating under CEO Franck Marilly, said that this move will help it gain efficiency and agility.
As part of the change, the group announced the creation of a steering committee within the executive committee, which will report to the CEO.
Within this, Luca Marotta has been appointed as deputy CEO of the Group; Ian McLernon has been named group chief markets officer; Mélanie Bulourde holds the role of group chief operations and CSR officer; and Clarisse Petit is group chief human resources officer.
A group chief brands officer will also be appointed at a later stage. Until then, Marilly will assume responsibility for this function.
At the same time, the plan outlined an expansion of the company’s executive committee to include a prestige department. Changes here will be led by Célia d’Everlange, who has been appointed chief transformation officer.
Two cross-functional functions have also been created in the form of the innovation lab, to be led by Douglas Taylor, and the executive lab, to be led by Sophie Phe.
Elsewhere in the transformation plan, Rémy Cointreau revealed its intention to activate five strategic levers.
These include intentions to strengthen the efficiency of the distribution network, increase value creation, maximize the impact of A&P investments, optimize procurement and simplify organisational structures.
On the new changes, Marilly said: “After three years of a complex environment, it is time for Rémy Cointreau to stand out within its industry. The group is privileged to be able to rely on a portfolio of exceptional brands and talented and committed teams.
“The RC forward plan aims to give us the means to generate our own value creation dynamic and thus be less dependent on macroeconomic cycles. It also aims to strengthen the entrepreneurial and conquering spirit of our teams, by capitalizing on the group’s culture, while instilling more discipline, rigor and high standards in terms of results.
“Our ambition is clear: to sustainably improve profitability in order to free up additional resources to reinvest in growth.”
