Master of Malt has released a series of indie single cask and small-batch spirits which will be available beyond its own website and in wider global retail for the first time.

The collection includes a 40-year-old Girvan grain whisky, a 29-year-old Tobermory, a 16-year-old Dailuaine and a run of Speyside and Highland single casks.

Following this, the team at Master of Malt has also revealed plans to launch a 50-year-old Scotch and a series of experimental cask-aged spirits, including gin and coffee liqueurs.

The products will be available for sale through distributors across EMEIA, APAC and North America.

Speaking to Drinks Retailing, Sam Simmons, head of whisky at Master of Malt, said: “While the Master of Malt retail website has always shipped globally, the Master of Malt line has only been available on our website. What’s new is that our indie bottling line is now being offered to wider retailers and our global distribution partners.”

Simmons continued that Master of Malt has seen an increased interest in whisky from all over the world, noting the growing popularity in malt in Australia, South Korea, Taiwan and throughout Scandinavia.

On the experimental cask-aged spirits, she added: “Historically, Master of Malt had several age-stated liqueurs, but we stopped making them. One day we said wait, why? It’s been a long-standing belief of ours that great drinks deserve great base spirits and using aged casks of Irish whiskey for liqueurs is something we cannot wait to launch.”

Looking forward to the future, she said: “Our new product development brainstorms are bottomless, and which of our ideas will come to life is as much a mystery to me as it is to you, but as an indie, founder-owned online booze retailer, we know the next year will be full of more.”

Alongside the new collection, there will also be a range of anniversary bottlings to coincide with the 40th birthday celebrations of Master of Malt.
