Majestic has said it will invest £4 million in expanding and upgrading its stores.

With a target of opening at least four new shops in 2026/27, the first is set to open in Trowbridge, Wiltshire.

According to the retailer, the first new opening of the year marks its commitment to experiential store-based retailing.

The company has opened more than 25 new shops across England, Scotland, Wales and Jersey since its acquisition by Fortress Investment Group in 2019.

In Trowbridge, the new 4,145 sq ft store offers more than 1,000 wines, including a dedicated fine wine area. It also stocks a selection of beers, spirits and low & no drinks.

Continuing its focus on in-person events, the Trowbridge store will host free wine tastings seven days a week. Customers will also be able to access services including free glass hire and wedding tastings.

In addition, the new store will support Majestic’s growing B2B division, Majestic Commercial, by supplying wines to gastropubs, bars and restaurants across Wiltshire.

On the new location, John Colley, CEO of Majestic Wine Group, said: “Our Trowbridge opening marks the start of another important year of investment for the Majestic business.

“Our experiential stores and expert colleagues have always been right at the heart of what we do best at Majestic, and they remain a central part of our strategic plan as we expand into new communities across the UK.

“This just the start of our exciting expansion plans for the year ahead and underscores our confidence in the future of experiential bricks and mortar retail.”
