Compagnia del Gusto Holding (CDGH) has acquired Jascots Wine Merchants from Freixenet Copestick, which purchased the supplier in 2020.
Established in 1986, the deal marks a new stage of development for Jascots as it looks to scale up its business. It also signifies a new chapter for CDGH, which is entering the UK market through the acquisition.
Assuming responsibility for the administrative and sales teams, alongside associated commercial assets, Freixenet Copestick said the acquisition will provide CDGH with control of established distribution networks. This includes direct access to key export markets for Italian food and wine.
Omar Raafat, head of Jascots, said: “This acquisition is an exciting milestone for Jascots that reflects our ambition to keep investing in our business, our customers and our future — something that’s exciting for both myself and the team to be part of.
“I’m looking forward to building on the strong foundations already in place and writing the next chapter together.”
Meanwhile, Ettore Nicoletto, CEO of Compagnia del Gusto Holding, commented: “The acquisition of Jascots is a key milestone in our international growth strategy.
“The UK is a strategic market for premium Italian wines and with Jascots we gain a solid distribution platform, an experienced team and deep expertise in the on-trade. We look forward to bringing the best of our Italian portfolio to such a prestigious customer base.”
Damian Clarke, MD of Freixenet Copestick & CSO of Henkell Freixenet, reflected: “We are proud of what has been achieved with Jascots Wine Merchants since we acquired it in 2020.
“This partnership with Compagnia del Gusto Holding will ensure business continuity and new development opportunities for the team and our customers. We are confident that Compagnia del Gusto vision and capabilities will further strengthen Jascots position in the UK on-trade market.”
