Marketing Week reported the brewer is to spend £25 million launching the beer in the UK and other European markets.

Fayrouz is already an established brand in Egypt, and is halal-compliant because its production process does not include alcohol fermentation, as in some other low and non-alcoholic beers, such as Kaliber.

A Heineken spokesman told OLN: “There are no plans to launch Fayrouz in the UK. The Fayrouz brand is owned by Heineken and brewed in Egypt. Heineken NV is in quiet period at the moment ahead of its results on Feb 21, so it won’t be able to comment on whether there are plans for Fayrouz in any other markets.”
