Welsh producers are preparing for Indie Beer Fest Wales 2026, set to take place from November 12–15, according to the Society of Independent Brewers and Associates (SIBA).
A celebration of Welsh indie brewers, SIBA said that Wales currently stands alone as the only part of the UK where the brewing scene is in growth.
Looking back on the SIBA UK Brewery Tracker, which illustrates the first six months of 2026, the statistics show that Wales gained three breweries in the first half of the year, a positive change of 3.4%.
By comparison, the brewery numbers in the UK as a whole dropped by 1% in the same period, with Northern Ireland dipping by a steep 19% and Scotland by 7.9%.
On Wales’ bucking of the trend, Lee Ralph, regional director, commented: “That is a massive achievement. Let’s raise a glass to it. Get behind the independent brewers putting their passion into every single pint.”
The Swansea event will feature over 150 local indie beers from more than 35 breweries, giving attendees a chance to meet the people who make them. There will also be live music throughout all evening sessions, a dedicated session for trade professionals, and a branded pint glass and beer token included in every ticket.
