Vinita Italia is ready to tap into the UK’s Italian wine market with the launch of a new UK base.

Vinita Wines UK is the distribution arm of Vinita Italia, a Verona-based network of Italian wineries. The parent company was established five years ago to help drive exports worldwide.

The network currently represents five core family-owned wineries, with an extended group of 12. The company is already well established in the USA and is now expanding into other markets, with the UK leading the way.

The UK office will be led by restauranteur, Navdeep Basi, supported by a nationwide sales team currently in the process of being recruited.

The five core wineries are Cantina Bassoli (Carpi), Villa Caplet (Amarone della Valpolicella), Azienda Agricola Demaria (Piemonte), La Peschiera (Tuscany) and La Campigiana (Chianti). The wines represent a large variety of regions and styles, with both classic and innovative wines in the portfolio, with very small production as well as larger scale wines.

Founder, Guido Rambelli, said: “Our focus is on quality, fine wine and constant innovation. We have established Vinita to firstly provide overseas markets with Italian fine wines from high-quality producers, and secondly to provide an extended network of wineries able to meet the demands and needs of every trade customer whether this is branded wine or private label.”

Wines from each core winery will be introduced to the UK market for the first time in February. The company will offer UK-wide transport and logistics, with deliveries on a daily basis from Monday to Friday. Warehousing is in place in several locations throughout the UK from London to Glasgow.

Vinita Wines UK will hold its first UK trade tasting on 28 February in Mayfair, with a masterclass looking at Italian sparkling wines, including Prosecco, Lambrusco, and a unique traditional fermentation Roero Arneis.
