Canadian wine importer Halle Stephens has taken on ownership of Acton-based retailer Vindinista, with the store set to reopen on January 10.

Previous owners Paola Tich and Mike Taylor announced their departure on social media, explaining their plans to relocate to Kent after 11 years of running Vindinista.

“While we are excited to finally realise our dream of living by the sea, we feel very sad to be leaving such a strong and supportive community,” the pair wrote. “But we are truly delighted that someone with Halle’s wine and hospitality skills will be taking over the little wine shop that could.”

Stephens has now assumed ownership of the store after initially joining the team in August. With around 10 years of experience in the wine industry, Stephens runs Okanagan Roots, importing wine from Canada’s Okanagan Valley region.

Vindinista is now due to reopen in the coming week, with Stephens planning on introducing a rotating monthly wine list highlighting natural and organic wines.
