The digital transformation of the spirits industry continues as Vapour, the flagship product of Speyside Labs, bolsters its leadership team to scale its global growth ambitions.

The platform, designed to bring transparency, efficiency and automation to spirits production, has appointed William Binnie as chief operating officer. He is joining fellow newcomer Stephen Hamilton, chief technology officer, to lead the business. The move signals a significant phase in Vapour’s evolution as it aims to attract major clients and expand its market presence across regions including Scotland, Norway, Ireland and Australia.

Binnie brings over two decades of experience in digital and AI-driven transformation, having built and scaled tech teams and delivered digital products across industries. His appointment is a strategic play to strengthen Vapour’s business operations and ensure the commercial and client-facing side of the platform keeps pace with the company’s technological innovation.

“Vapour is perfectly positioned to shape the future of spirits production with its commitment to innovation and transparency,” said Binnie (pictured left).

“As we scale, we’re proud to work with new distilleries that have started using Vapour from day one, all the way to large PLCs and group distillers who are driving their innovation using the data captured and generated within Vapour.”

Meanwhile, Hamilton (pictured right) has been brought on board to shape the digital and technical roadmap as Vapour’s CTO, focusing on the development of advanced features and core infrastructure to meet the evolving demands of producers.

“Our combined strengths in technology innovation and operational execution uniquely position Vapour to lead the digital transformation of the spirits industry. William’s experience in scaling complex digital platforms will be crucial as we expand Vapour’s reach and impact,” he said.
