Vagabond Wines is hosting a Sherry Tap Takeover throughout April to help spread the trade’s love of the Andalucian drink to consumers.

From April each branch will feature six different Sherries in a dedicated section on its wine dispensing machines.

Stephen Finch, Vagabond’s managing director, said: “Everyone in the trade already loves Sherry, we think it’s time to bring that love to everyone else.”

In addition, Vagabond has created its own Sherry-based cocktail called The Kiko. The drink, named in honor of the Atletico Madrid centre-forward who was born in the town of Jerez, is a chilled combination of Gonzalez Byass Leonor Palo Cortado with orange peel and lemon juice, garnished with blueberry.

The cocktail , which is offered at £5 a glass, is described as being “a refreshing and tangy taste of southern Spain that shows Sherry is so much more than an aperitif”.
