The UK has been confirmed as Prosecco’s second-largest global market, following the United States.

Data from January–September 2025 showed that exports to the US grew by 8%. Meanwhile, the UK grew by 1.1%.

France is the third-largest export market, followed by Germany. Elsewhere, exports also grew in Greece and Mexico by 14.5% and 22.4%, respectively.

Overall, Prosecco DOC finished 2025 having sold 667 million bottles worldwide, 1.1% more than the previous year.

It generated a total value of €3.6 billion, with over 82% of the product exported to 164 countries.

According to the Prosecco DOC Consortium, these results are impressive given the geopolitical instability that shaped the year.

Giancarlo Guidolin, president of the Prosecco DOC Consortium, said: “The data confirms the resilience of our denomination in a year characterised by major instability in the global economy.

“Our denomination has demonstrated its strength thanks to the shared commitment of the entire supply chain – winegrowers, winemakers and sparkling wine producers. This unity, combined with our constant dedication to consumer protection, enables us to face complex international scenarios with balance and foresight.”
