In contrast to global shipments, which declined in 2025, Champagne shipments to the UK have increased over the last year.

According to Champagne Bureau UK, 22.7 million bottles of Champagne were shipped to the UK in 2025, marking a 1.9% uplift in volume.

The report continued that the UK now accounts for 15% of Champagne’s market share, making it a top-three market alongside the US and Japan.

Outside of the UK, eight out of 10 leading export markets for Champagne have reported volume growth, though this is within the wider context of decline.

Within this, brut remains the most popular style in the UK, making up over 84% of shipments. Rosé accounts for 10.5%, followed by cuvée spéciale at 2.1% and extra brut at 1.5%.

Victoria Henson, director of Champagne Bureau UK, said: “Champagne’s global appeal rests on three key strengths: its undisputed quality and versatility, its unique storytelling thanks to its heritage and know how and its strong ability to evolve with the times and adapt accordingly.

“Despite ongoing geopolitical uncertainty and rising costs – challenges that Champagne has navigated and overcome historically – it stands as an aspirational, accessible luxury and an enduring reference in the sparkling wine category.”
