New-York based Tilray Brands has followed its acquisition of Brewdog’s UK operations with a deal to buy the Scottish company’s US assets.
Beverage and medical cannabis company Tilray paid £33m two weeks ago for Brewdog’s UK brewing operations, 10 pubs in the UK, a bar in Dublin and its beer brands after the craft beer firm went into administration.
It followed this up last week with the purchase of Brewdog’s Australian bars and a brewery in Brisbane.
The US deal includes a brewery in Columbus, Ohio, three pubs and a hotel in the state, a brewpub in Las Vegas, a Brewdog franchise in Denver and a bar at Columbus airport.
Irwin Simon, Tilray’s chairman and chief executive officer, said: “This transaction reinforces Tilray’s acquisition of Brewdog’s operating assets, building on our previously announced deals in the UK, Ireland and Australia.
“Tilray now owns the Brewdog brand and its intellectual property worldwide.
“This positions us to steward the brand’s next chapter with a unified strategy and a fully integrated North American brewpub footprint designed to support long‑term growth and brand strength.”
Tilray has a diverse drinks portfolio including beer, spirits, no-alcohol and functional beverages, including Blue Point, Green Flash and Breckenridge.
The initial Brewdog acquisition added an array of popular beer brands including Punk IPA, Hazy Jane, Lost Lager and Wingman.
