The Wine and Spirit Trade Association has made two additions to its Board.

Kari Daniels of Tesco and Robin McMillan of The Wine Society took their seats on the Board for the first time last week.

Daniels is currently commercial director of packaged products in the UK at Tesco. She joined the retailer in 2002 and has worked across various categories. She is the most senior retail figure to join the WSTA Board.

McMillan has spent close to 30 years in the wine trade and for the last six years he has held the position of chief executive office of The Wine Society. He joins the Board having chaired the WSTA’s Distance Selling Panel for six years.

Dan Jago, chairman of the WSTA, said: “I am delighted to welcome both Kari and Robin to the Board. They will add further substance and skill to the WSTA Board. Kari’s work in retail over the years and her role and remit at Tesco will be a tremendous asset to the Board. Equally, Robin’s vast experience in the wine trade, his experience at the head of The Wine Society and his familiarity with the WSTA, thanks to his role as Chair of our Distance Selling Panel, will mean he adds much to our discussions.

“I look forward to working with Robin, Kari and the rest of the Board throughout 2018 and beyond.”

Chief executive, Miles Beale, added: “The WSTA continues to build skills and capacity on the Board – each member of our Board brings to the able a set of skills that make the WSTA more focused, more responsive and more experienced. The WSTA is doing more than ever before for its members and the industry in these uncertain times.”
