Tesco has added a selection of new sparkling wines to its Finest range, increasing its range of price points as well as introducing its customers to some traditional styles from lesser-known regions.

The newcomers include a Tesco Finest Franciacorta, a Cremant de Limoux Rose, Prosecco Frizzante and a Valdobbiadene DOCG Prosecco Magnum.

Tesco’s product develop for sparkling, Alex Runciman, said: “We have been working closely with our customers’ needs and have seen an increase in the number of shopers wanting to enjoy sparkling wines from a variety of different countries and regions.

“These fantastic new Tesco sparkling wines offer customers an opportunity to discover a range of top quality sparkling wines at exceptional prices. We hope Tesco own label wiles will become a real destination for wine exploration and discovery for shoppers across the country.”

Tesco Finest Franciacorta DOCG Brut, which is priced at £15, has been crated in partnership with Castel Faglia. The wines are produced in the same way as Champagne and for this Brut the wine spends 18 months ageing on lees. The resulting wine is described as having a lemony fresh sparkling flavour with ripe fruit and notes of brioche complexity.

Tesco Finest Cremant de Limoux Rose, at £11, has been created in partnership with Sieur d’Arques. The wine is made from Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and Pinot Noir and the wine has flavours of fresh bright red fruits with added biscuit complexity from extended lees ageing.

Tesco Finest Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG Magnum, priced at £19, is a dry sparkling wine which is described as being fresh and elegantly complex.

All will be available in Tesco stores nationally from this month.
