Fells has announced the addition of Tenuta Pfitscher to its Italian portfolio, joining on 1 March.
Based in Alto Adige in northern Italy, Tenuta Pfitscher was founded in 1861 and is now overseen by the sixth and seventh generations of the family.
According to Fells, the producer tends six distinct vineyard areas within the Alpine slopes that characterise the area.
This results in wines that are noted for their freshness and sensitivity of expression.
Euan Mackay, MD of Fells, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Pfitscher to the growing Fells family. Our Italian producers are, without exception, pioneers of quality in their regions, and Pfitscher’s track record of excellence in Alto Adige maintains that high standard.”
Daniel Pfitscher, CEO of Tenuta Pfitscher, added: “Fells’ unique connection to family-owned producers made them a natural partner for us as we take our next steps in the important UK market.
“Joining Fells represents a new chapter in the 160-year history of our winery. We believe our wines tell a story of who we are and where we make them, and we’re looking forward to sharing them with Fells’ customers.”
