Following a flood in St Mary’s, where Sustainability in Drinks (SID) was set to be held, the organisers have announced that the event on 21 October will be moved to a new location.
Organisers Judy Kendrick and Janet Harrison have confirmed that the day – created to delve into sustainability in the trade – will now take place at Christ Church in Spitalfields.
Harrison noted that all the original events scheduled for SID will go ahead. However, the event will now begin at 10:30 am, with the planned talks and activities pushed back by 30 minutes.
“Other than that, everything is the same. We are absolutely thrilled with the new venue, its capabilities and the event manager’s willingness to accommodate us at such short notice: it is quite a relief!” she said.
On the change, Kendrick added: “It was unthinkable to postpone the event as we have influential speakers and exhibitors who have already booked to attend, from eight different countries, including New Zealand, California, Portugal and Nordic countries.”
The 2025 SID exhibitors have been split across four zones, each representing a different element of sustainability: the Sustainable Society Zone, the Carbon Management Zone, the Land Health Zone and the Packaging Zone.
There will also be a series of workshops, exhibitions and talks, including The Big Sustainability Debate, introduced by Jancis Robinson OBE MW.
