Suntory Global Spirits – previously known as Beam Suntory – has opened new UK offices in London and Glasgow.

The company said this marks an investment in its UK business as it aims to become “the world’s most admired premium spirits company”.

The London office, stationed near Oxford Circus, will serve as the UK headquarters of Suntory Global Spirits’ UK commercial business and employ over 100 people across sales, marketing and corporate functions.

The new Glasgow office will be located on West George Street, offering a city-centre space for the company’s existing 50 Glasgow-based employees.

This announcement follows a Drinks Retailing interview with Suntory Global Spirits UK MD, Nick Temperley, where he explained the company’s new commercial business model. In it, he said: “There’s a need for Suntory Global Spirits to become more global”.

On the opening of the UK offices, Temperley said: “Suntory Global Spirits has had a presence in London for many years, but with the launch of our standalone commercial business in the UK earlier this year, we wanted to have a space for our team in the heart of the city that places us closer to our customers and consumers.”

Chris Richardson, managing director of Scotch & Irish at Suntory Global Spirits, said: “Suntory Global Spirits and our brands have a longstanding connection to Glasgow, and today we have teams from various global corporate functions as well as production and local teams working here.

“We are delighted to provide this new central Glasgow office space that enhances our presence in Scotland and provides our people with a facility where they can do their best work. This is a great example of how Suntory continues to invest in its people and ensure we are at the centre of the action in key cities around the world.”
