Spitfire Gold has joined Spitfire Premium Kentish Ale in supporting this year’s Movember campaign.

As part of the campaign, both licensees and customers are invited to enter a competition to design their own beer.

To enter, competitors must submit their Mo Beer creation at www.spitfireale.co.uk/win before December 31, 2015. The submissions should include a name, beer style, hop and special ingredient.

The winner will visit the Shepherd Neame brewery in Faversham, where the team will help them create their beer. The winner will be involved at every stage, from brewing to label design.

They will also receive a year’s supply of beer.

The brewery is also producing a limited edition Spitfire Premium Kentish Ale Movember bottle featuring a moustache on the front label and details of the “Invent Your Mo Beer” on the back.

Will Upfield, Spitfire Ale brand manager, said: “We are very proud to be a Movember partner, and are delighted to be able to support the charity by offering this unique prize.

“We hope the competition will encourage more pubs and drinkers than ever before to get involved.”

Spitfire Premium Kentish Ale has sponsored Movember for the last five years.

Last year, Movember raised £11.7 million in the UK alone.

Alongside the competition, Spitfire has partnering with drinks writers Ben McFarland and Tom Sandham from www.thinkingdrinkers.com to produce a film for Movember.

The film, titled The Spitfire Guide to ‘Growing Your Own Moustache’, is available to view online at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEIFR4rRdPM&feature=youtu.be

In it, McFarland and Sandham demonstrate the perils of applying Kentish hops, a dark barley malt grist and a shaving foam of Spitfire ale before being shaved by a barber.
