Spar has announced plans for two wine festivals in 2017, which it hopes will emulate its “hugely successful” Craft Ale & Beer event which ran throughout February

The first wine festival has just been launched and will run until 5 April across Spar stores in England, Scotland and Wales. The event will showcase leading brands such as Hardy’s, Casillero del Diablo and Mud House, as well as Speciale Prosecco, Fern Hills Sauvignon Blanc and Rios de los Andes Malbec wines from Spar’s own label range. The event will feature a number of promotions for all customers across these brands and these will be supported by deals on Spar Brie, dips and continental meals, which it says are “the perfect accompaniments for an enjoyable evening”.

All deals will be featured on the Spar website and across all digital platforms, and this will be supported heavily instore with POS to maximise visibility of the promotions.

Ed Evans, Spar UK’s head of BWS, said: “We are delighted to be running, not just one, but two events for our customers this year. Spar has always provided its shoppers with fantastic variety and choice with its wine range. As well as some of the biggest brands in the market, our own label award winning wines will also be available for shoppers to enjoy. Every year it becomes more important to provide consumers with an even better shopping experience at a competitive price, and at Spar we believe these events will give our customers exactly that.”

The second Spar Wine Festival will run from 27 July to 6 September 2017.
