The vodka-based range was originally in 3cl pots, which some retailers still carry. It has 14.5% abv, lower than many other shot brands according to Halewood, which has been working with retailers

to cut

alcohol levels.

Marketing controller Richard Clark said: “Given the criticism

the category has received

over the past 12 months, we have worked to reduce the abv . This product delivers 0.435 units of alcohol per 3cl serve as opposed to 1.125 units of alcohol in a traditional 3cl vodka shot.

“As well as tasting great, the products deliver a high visual impact, making them an ideal base for stylish drinks for a broad range of trading opportunities.”

Sidekick comes in eight flavours – including new Cookies & Cream and Toffee Caramel – and can be drunk neat over ice or mixed with lemonade or fruit juice.
