Sharps Cornish brewery is to be the headline partner for the second annual London Beer Week, which runs from February 22 to 28.

The Sharp’s Brewery London Beer Week Hub will be situated in Ely’s Yard at The Old Truman Brewery.
Sharp’s will be setting up a Cornish ‘beach’ where festival goers can relax and sample a new beer brewed exclusively for the week.

There will also be exclusive tasting sessions throughout the week with expert beer sommeliers in the Sharp’s Secret Bar as well as a free beer on offer for those willing to confess their sins in Sharp’s Beer Confessional.

Nick White, events manager at Sharp’s Brewery, said: “The first London Beer Week was a huge success, and Sharp’s are very excited to be back for the second year as headline sponsor and bringing the Cornish beach to the East End once more.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase our full range of brews and give beer lovers in the capital a great experience.”

Emma Murphy from London Beer Week said: “We’re thrilled to be working with Sharp’s Brewery again for London Beer Week.

“Building on the fantastic success of 2015, we know that the Sharp’s Brewery London Beer Week Hub is going to exceed expectations and give consumers an unrivalled opportunity to revolutionise the way they drink and appreciate beer.”

Founded in 1994, Sharp’s is the largest brewer of cask beer in the South West, expanding production by 40% in 2014 alone.

Sharp’s Doom Bar is the UK’s leading cask ale.

Its latest releases are Wolf Rock (4.8% ABV) and Atlantic (4.5%), which has quickly become one of the South West’s fastest growing beer brands.

London Beer Week has been developed by the same team behind London Cocktail Week, which is now in its seventh year, and London Wine Week.

Over 100 bars and restaurants will be participating in the festival this year, offering £3 speciality beers and £5 boilermakers or hoptails to those wearing a London Beer Week wristband.

Wristbands can be purchased online and at the Sharp’s Brewery London Beer Week Hub from February 22.
