Rioja Wine UK has announced the reopening of its Rioja Wine Club as part of its 2026 marketing programme.

With the aim of building awareness for the region, the wine club offers a package for 10 independent retailers who have an interest in learning more about Rioja.

Selected retailers will receive an annual sample budget from the board to support in-store Rioja tastings.

They will also have access to educational support for staff via an online Rioja seminar. Additionally, the retailers will be invited on a sourcing trip to Rioja in May to bolster their selection of wines from the region.

The Wine Club is part of a wider marketing plan created on behalf of the Rioja DOC. Other initiatives include both on-trade and consumer-focused events.

The Rioja region is made up of three distinct sections: Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Oriental. Within this, there are more than 66,000ha that the DOC wants to promote.

Independent retailers wanting to apply can do so until 18 March, with successful applicants being notified by the end of the month.
