TV presenter Richard Hammond has launched a gin and whisky collection in collaboration with Hawkridge Distillers.

The gin, Hammond’s Ratio London Dry Gin, is inspired by Hammond’s connection to the Lake District and his desire for botanical balance. Developed at Hawkridge’s Berkshire distillery, the liquid features locally sourced ingredients such as bilberries, wild gorse flowers and honey.

The collection also includes a single malt English whisky, Iron Ridge, matured in American bourbon casks and offering notes of vanilla, caramel and smoke.

Hammond’s entry into the drinks world follows the path of his former Top Gear co-hosts. Jeremy Clarkson launched Hawkstone lager in 2021, sold online and at his Diddly Squat Farm Shop, while James May introduced James Gin the same year, currently distributed by Craftwork.

On the new venture, James Gurney, founder of Hawkridge Distillers, said: “Working with Richard has been a meeting of minds – his obsession with quality and storytelling aligns perfectly with our distilling ethos. This isn’t about putting a name on a bottle. It’s about building a narrative, crafting flavour and doing something remarkable.”
