Off Licence News is inviting independent readers to register for a £50 bursary to visit the London International Wine Fair in May.

We have teamed up with organiser Brintex to give the first 150 retailers to register cash to put towards the cost of travel or arranging staff cover during their visit to the show, which takes place at London’s Excel from May 22-24.

The scheme is open to all independents, though only one bursary can be offered per company. The bursaries will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

On top of the bursary initiative, OLN is offering independents a raft of special features to make their visit as useful – and stress-free – as possible.

New this year, we are hosting the invitation-only Off Licence News Independents Lounge area, which visitors can use as a base to plan their time, catch up on work and, of course, meet other retailers.

Every lunchtime, independents will also have the opportunity to enjoy a free buffet lunch, sponsored by Wines of Portugal, from 1-2pm. As well as traditional Portuguese food, there will be a selection of the country’s wines to taste.

The Off Licence News Independents Lounge will also host one-to-one sessions in which retailers can talk through issues relating to their business with leading experts.

We’ll be revealing more about those free daily sessions in the coming weeks.

In addition, retailers who visit our lounge will be able to pick up an exclusive independent voucher booklet, featuring bespoke offers and promotions with exhibiting suppliers, and goodie bags.

We will also be offering a daily draw, giving retailers the chance to win free education courses, sponsored by the Wine & Spirit Education Trust.
