North South Wines is adding Noughty to its portfolio, to add to its growing collection of alcohol-free drinks.

Noughty is a vegan alcohol-free sparkling Chardonnay, which claims to have almost half the sugar content of traditional alcohol-free sparkling wines. It also has just 14 calories per 10cl glass.

The dealcoholised wine is produced with 100% organic Chardonnay grapes from southern Spain.

Kim Wilson, managing director of North South Wines, said: “We have been championing the no/low category since day one and this addition means that we have a sparkling 0% for all occasions to offer our customers, alongside La Gioiosa and Belle & Co.

“With Noughty we can cater for that luxury non-alcoholic adult drinking occasion with a wine that delivers on quality, style and feel-good factor, being organic and suitable for vegans. Surveys have shown that brands are much more resilient in the current socioeconomic climate and in that respect, Noughty ticks all the boxes as a great addition to the portfolio. It’s a pleasure to be working with Amanda and her team for the next part of the Noughty journey.”

Noughty’s creator Amanda Thomson, chief executive officer and founder of Thomson & Scott, said: Tthere is a vast amount of evidence to show that consumers are drinking less alcohol and looking for top quality alternatives in beer and spirits. No-one is tackling the alcohol-free sector to cater to the next generation of quality wine drinkers who don’t want to consume alcohol. Noughty is the first to produce a luxe, alcohol-free sparkling Chardonnay that is also 100% organic and vegan certified.”

Noughty Organic Sparkling Chardonnay (rrp: £8.99), is described as having “an elegant pale colour with a crisp and ripe apple scent accompanied by a touch of sweetness”.  It has listings with Waitrose, Harvey Nichols and Planet Organic.
