Stellenbosch focus for Harvey-Miller
Harvey-Miller Wine & Spirit Agencies is launching a three-strong wine range from South Africa's Overgaauw vineyards.
Shepherd's Cottage will be available in the on and off-trade and includes a Chardonnay/Semillon/Chenin Blanc blend, a Pinotage Rosé and a Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot blend. Each of the styles will retail for £5.99.
The range has been developed by David van Velden
jr, who took over as fourth-generation winemaker at Overgaauw this
month.
Alexander Meaney, wine development manager at Harvey-Miller, said: "South Africa is increasingly performing well at £5+ price points
and HMWSA can see real potential for the Shepherd's Cottage range, delivering excellent quality
and easy wines - in terms of labelling - for the UK consumer to understand. The overall market grew by 4% volume last year, but sales over £5 were up by 18%."
