IWC honours memory of Cabanne
Thierry Cabanne is to be remembered with an award in his name at the International Wine Challenge.
The founder of Thierry's Wine Services, who died in a car accident on the night of last year's IWC awards ceremony, will give his name to the Great Value Wine Award, embracing six categories: red, white, rosé, sparkling, sweet and fortified.
Thierry's buying director Dominique Vrigneau said: "We wanted to honour Thierry's memory in a way that reflected his immense passion for the world of wine and his determination to introduce it to new consumers."
IWC general manager Mike
Florence added: "The Great Value Awards recognise the finest of everyday drinking wines that are readily available in the UK.
"Thierry Cabanne was a pioneer of distributing quality, great value wines, and these awards reflect perfectly his contribution to the trade."
