Retailer fined over drinks label removal
The owner of a Birmingham off-licence was fined £4,125 after best-before labels were removed from more than 150 bottles of lager,

This is the second time Sahni has been taken to court for this type of offence - in January he was given a suspended sentence in a similar prosecution.
A Trading Standards spokesperson said: "Action was taken under the Food Label Regulations 1996 for removal of best-before dates on 169 bottles of lager, alcopops and flavoured water, and this was the second time Mr Sahni had been prosecuted this year for an offence of this nature.
"Officers are vigilant in ensuring that the sale of food and drink is monitored and meets environmental health and legal requirements."
