Auction to raise lots for Wine Relief
Once-in-a-lifetime wine lots are being auctioned off at Berry Bros & Rudd for Wine Relief.
The sale will take place at the wine merchant’s Big Red Nose Day Dinner, which is being held on March 13.
The top lot is a collection of 15 imperial bottles from the 2005 vintage of top Bordeaux chateaux, which has a reserve of £30,000.
Another lot comprises balthazars of 2005 Chateau Haut-Brion and Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion, with a reserve of £10,000.
There’s also a £10,000 reserve price on a three-day tour of top Bordeaux chateaux for four people.
A dinner for six including first growth wines is up for grabs for a minimum of £3,000, and a tutored tasting with Jancis Robinson carries a reserve price of £4,000.
The estimated value of all the lots is around £60,000.
Berry Bros is also donating 10% from all sales of its Good Ordinary claret in the six weeks before Red Nose Day.
