Wish 4 sweet taste of Fairtrade
A range of muffins, bars and sweets has been launched by a new company specialising in Fairtrade.
Founder Alan Clayton set up Wish 4 Fair Trade after winning a trip to visit Fairtrade?-certified sugar farmers in Malawi as a result of his home town, Kinsale, winning the first Best Fairtrade Town in Ireland award.
The muffins come in four flavours – toffee, blueberry, chocolate and
emon – and retail for around 89p.
The bars are all made using butter with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
There are six variants – Honey & Fruit Flapjack, Traditional Oat Flapjack, Millionaire’s Shortbread, Chocolate Brownie, Fruity Nut Seed Bar and Rich Fruit Cake (rrp from 79p).
In the sweets range there’s Calypso Fruit Mix, Crumbly Mint Balls, Blackcurrant & Liquorice, Vanilla Fudge, Toffee Assortment, and the first Fairtrade sharing box – a 400g fudge and toffee assortment. The packs will retail for £1.49 and the box for £3.99.
“Wish 4 Fair Trade produces the best?-quality, best?-tasting food, using all ingredients possible from Fairtrade-certified co-ops from around the world.
“Half of all our profits will go towards investing in Fairtrade enterprises in producer countries,” Clayton said.
