Think Spirits has new September date

Think Spirits 2020 will now take place in September.

The event, which was due to be held on April 28, has been postponed until September 15, 2020, due to ongoing fears about the coronavirus outbreak.

The venue – St Mary’s Church, Marylebone, London – will remain the same, as will the ambassadors for the five sections: Think Gin, Think Rum, Think Whiskey, Think Tequila & Mezcal and Think Vodka.

In a statement the event’s organiser and Drinks Retailing’s publisher, Agile Media, said: “We have been monitoring very closely the evolution of the Coronavirus outbreak here in the UK. Whilst following government advice, we have been assessing the impact the outbreak would have on the event and what measures we could put in place in order to mitigate risks and deliver a safe, successful event for all.

“Over the past few days, it has become clear that this is a very fast moving situation with increasing new restrictions on travel and individual companies' guidelines to staff meetings and event attendance.  We are also extremely mindful and concerned for the wellbeing of you, our partners and sponsors, our visitors and also our own team. This has led us to the conclusion that it would be impossible for us to push ahead with the current timing for Think Spirits in April.

“Whilst it is the current position of the UK government to allow public gatherings, we have made the decision to postpone Think Spirits to the new date of September 15th. The venue remains the same – St Mary’s, Marylebone.  Our priority is to act responsibly and put the safety of you, our exhibitors, our visitors and our own team first. We also want to deliver a successful event for all.

“We will press on with preparations to make sure the new Think Spirits date of September 15th is a huge success for you!”
