Rum from Manchester sells out 24 hours after appearing on This Morning
A pineapple flavoured rum from Manchester sold out online within 24 hours and became the number one rum on Amazon as a result of appearing on This Morning. It has also secured a number of new retail listings.
Pineapple Grenade Rum sold out shortly after it was sampled by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning last week, according to producer Rockstar Spirits.
Tom Hurst, founder and chief executive, told DRN: “The response to being featured on This Morning has been dramatic. Pineapple Grenade sold out across all out across all out online retail partners in 24 hours and became the number one rum on Amazon as a result.
“The sister brand to Pineapple Grenade called Two Swallows also sold out as a result of interest in Rockstar Spirits as a whole. Any product featured on TV is amazing exposure but it was the strength and authenticity of the reaction from Holly that really resonated with the consumers and was the most watched clip on This Mornings Instagram last week with nearly 400,000 views.
“We have sold three months in a week and working on up weighting production to cope with increased demand. Plenty of new retail and wholesale listings have come on board most notably Booths supermarkets as a direct result of the increased interest in the brand from This Morning.
“We will be launching a sister brand to Pineapple Grenade called Grapefruit Grenade in the next month with flavours of Grapefruit and Honeycomb and would expect to see lots of new releases and innovation in the spiced and flavoured rum category over the next few years.”
Pineapple Grenade Rum is distributed in the UK by Hammonds of Knutsford.
