Thatchers introduces new video shorts

Somerset cidermaker Thatchers has launched a series of short films that will run on demand throughout the spring and summer.

As part of its Hot Air Balloon TV campaign, the 15-second and 6-second mini ads feature the characters originally introduced in the TV commercial, with managing director, Martin Thatcher, making cameo appearances in some of the films.

People will be able to view the series on social media channels, such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Programmatic VOD.

Each film takes a look at life on Thatchers’ Myrtle Farm, through the eyes of the TV commercial’s comedic ‘spokesperson’. Locations include: out in the orchards, and in the local pub featuring interaction with those at the heart of the Thatchers cidermaking process. Maintaining the What Cider’s Supposed to Taste Like strapline, the message of the campaign is that the Thatcher Family is uncompromising about the quality of its cider.
