Hobgoblin adds IPA to its range
A hoppy IPA has joined the Hobgoblin portfolio.
Hobgoblin IPA is a light copper-coloured 5.3% abv beer, described by the brewer as “a bold brother” to Hobgoblin Ruby Ale and Hobgoblin Gold.
The beer contains two “understated” English hops – Fuggles and Goldings – as well as four American variants – Mosaic, Chinook, Centennial and Citra – bringing a wave of tropical citrus and fresh orange flavours, according to the company.
The new IPA has already gained listings with Asda, Morrisons and The Co-op, and it will go into wider distribution in 2018, in the on and off-trades.
Brand manager, Alex Harrison, said: “Hobgoblin IPA stays true to the goblin’s ancestral traditions of mischief and boldness. This collision of Old and New World hops provides an explosion of tropical aroma and a juicy bitterness. It is heftily hopped and packed with the gently sweet aromas of Vienna Malts. It will create an important trilogy for the Hobgoblin brand, which is the number one recruiter brand in Premium Bottle Ale in the UK.”
