Spirits Report 2007
Compiled by Christine Boggis, Laura Clark and Rebecca Evans
The UK off-trade spirits market has rallied in 2007
after a stagnant 2006, according to Nielsen figures to Aug 11 2007. Some categories - notably gin and malt - saw sales hit the same levels as they did in 2004/5,
after a dip in 2006. Maybe after World Cup fever, and with the summer that never happened, consumers who went all-out for lager and cider last year are turning back to spirits.
