Admiral's Ale scoops prestigious title at IBC awards
A British beer has once again been crowned the International Beer Challenge's Supreme Champion, despite strong global competition.
Admiral's Ale from St Austell in Cornwall scooped the prize of winning beer 2008 at the IBC awards ceremony in London, held in association with O LN.
Judge Jeff Evans said: " Admiral's Ale
was the clear favourite .
in terms of balance, drinkability and wonderful, fresh flavours. "
Judges also loved the "fun and informative" packaging with its
modern Nelson cartoon and details about the beer.
Evans said: "The bottled beer market has never been better. Standards
have risen dramatically during the 12 years that the IBC has been running .
"Judges were particularly impressed this year by the advances made by British brewers, who have closed the gap with counterparts in countries such as Belgium and the USA
