A new distillery in the heart of Scotland’s whisky country has released a Speyside Gin and Vodka.

Glenrinnes Distillery, a new family-owned business, has launched Eight Lands, which is named after the eight different counties that are visible from the Ben Rinnes mountain, where the distillery is based.

The distillery was set up with the aim of producing super-premium white spirits from Speyside spring water and 100% organic ingredients.

The brand, Eight Lands, will initially include an Organic Speyside Gin (rsp: £39), which is a juniper-forward London Dry-style gin with added locally foraged botanicals (including sorrel and cowberries); and Eight Lands Organic Speyside Vodka (rsp: £37), which is “exceptionally smooth and characterful”.

The distillery was set up three years ago by father and stepson team, Alasdair Locke and Alex Christou. The duo have no plans to make whisky, instead they plan to focus on making high quality white spirits. The estate’s farming activites have been wholly organic since 2001.
