New Generation Wines has acquired Bancroft Wines in what it described as a strategic investment to drive future growth.

The wholesaler said the combined portfolios, together with the expertise of both teams, will provide greater scale, an expanded market reach and increased opportunities for producers and customers.

New Generation confirmed that both businesses will continue to operate as normal during the integration period, with no immediate changes to customer contacts, ordering processes, supplier relationships or day-to-day operations.

A phased integration will take place over the coming months, with full integration scheduled for January 2027.

James McKenna, MD at New Generation Wines, said: “This acquisition is about investing in the future. By bringing together two businesses with shared values, complementary strengths and a passion for building premium wine brands, we’re creating a stronger platform for sustainable growth. We’re excited about the opportunities this creates for our suppliers, customers and teams.”

He added: “Our focus is on combining the best of both businesses while maintaining the strong relationships that have made each company successful. Together we’re better equipped for current market conditions and well placed to take advantage of future growth opportunities.”
