Lochlea Sowing Edition (Third Crop)

USP: Lochlea Distillery is set to launch the final instalment of its seasonal Sowing Edition collection on April 25. The Sowing Edition series pays homage to the farming calendar with four seasonal releases during the year, each one showcasing a different side to Lochlea’s house style of spirit. The four whiskies in the First Crop were released from early 2022, followed by Second Crop in 2023.

Bushmills 14 Year Old

USP: A permanent addition to Bushmills’ whiskey range, the 14YO single malt is matured in first and second-fill bourbon barrels and then finished for 12 months in Malaga casks. Alex Thomas, master blender, said: “I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and create a really exciting taste experience for every palate. It is unlike any other whiskey in our core range. Marrying the bourbon cask with the Malaga wine adds layers of ripe fruit all working together with honey, cinnamon, and milk chocolate.”

Procera Gin Dot 2023 Vintage

USP: Produced in Kenya from only a single tree variety, Gin Dot 2023 uses juniper harvested from Narok county. Only 300 bottles will be available in the UK.

Burnt Faith Bourbon Cask Brandy

USP: This is the first launch in London-based brandy producer Burnt Faith’s cask series. The limited-edition brandy is made using four different grape varieties – Trebbiano, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Muscat Blanc – and then matured for three years in bourbon barrels from Heaven Hill distillery. 

Duo White Rum

USP: A new release from Brewdog’s distilling arm, Duo White Rum joins the brand’s Duo Spiced and Duo Spiced with Caramelised Pineapple rums. Steven Kearsley, managing director of Brewdog Distilling Co, said: “We have been making our white rum for a while now, as it’s used in our  Wonderland canned mojitos. This is the first time we’ve bottled and released the liquid as its own standalone brand. We think white rum is somewhat untapped, and ours is a wonderful expression of how aromatic and flavourful this style of rum can be.”

The Aberturret Gin

USP: A gin from Scotch whisky producer The Glenturret, The Aberturret features 14 botanicals as well as the distillery’s new make spirit. “Juniper is to the fore, with citrus notes of lime peel and grapefruit adding zesty overtones, underpinned by a clean minerality that allows the aroma to flourish,” the company said.

Maestro Dobel 50 Cristalino Tequila

Maestro Dobel 50 is twice distilled in copper pot stills. After ageing in American and Eastern European oak barrels for a minimum of 3 years, the liquid is then filtered for a clear ‘Cristalino’ liquid. Juan Dobel, founder at Maestro Dobel Tequila, said: “This release is a testament to our dedication to pushing the boundaries of tequila craftsmanship while honouring our rich heritage.”

Cîroc Limonata

USP: Cîroc Limonata is a blend of vodka distilled from French grapes and the flavour of fresh lemons. Brand owner Diageo said the new variant taps into the growing demand for flavoured vodka among consumers, with the category “worth nearly £33m each year in impulse convenience”.

Strathearn Single Malt Whisky

USP: Douglas Laing & Co has released the first single malt from Strathearn Distillery, which the company purchased in 2019. Made using Maris Otter malt and a long fermentation process, the whisky was matured in 32 ex-Bourbon, virgin and ex-Sherry casks, some inherited with the purchase and some distilled under Douglas Laing & Co’s ownership.

William Grant & Sons’ Wildmoor Scotch whisky range

USP: William Grant & Sons has released a range of high-aged blended Scotch whiskies, described as a “flavour map” of Scotland. The range is made up of seven expressions, ranging from 21 years old to 40 years old. The range combines malt and grain whiskies.

Butterfly Cannon The Winged King Reposado

USP: The Butterfly Cannon tequila has released a new 100% agave Reposado expression, following the launch of the brand’s D2C e-commerce platform. The handmade bottle comes with a solid chrome stopper featuring a true-to-size monarch butterfly statuette.

Rekorderlig Peach-Raspberry and Blackberry-Blackcurrant

USP: Rekorderlig has added two new variants to its flavoured cider range, with the Peach-Raspberry flavour thought to be the first of its kind in the cider category. Stuart Ayre, marketing controller for cider at Molson Coors Beverage Company, said: “The introduction of both our exciting new Peach-Raspberry and Blackberry-Blackcurrant flavours will help us appeal to a wider range of consumers and tap into more occasions over the summer months when cider is so popular. Peach in particular is a rapidly-growing flavour trend that’s becoming hugely popular across food and drink, but doesn’t have as much of a presence in fruit cider yet.”

Nirvana Brewery Bavarian Hefeweizen & Cloudy Lemon Lager

USP: Low/no beer producer Nirvana has released two new beers. The Cloudy Lemon Lager mixes Nirvana’s Helles lager with sparkling lemonade, while the Bavarian Hefeweizen is a naturally cloudy wheat beer.

USP: The latest launch from Old Speckled Hen is an “easy-drinking ale” brewed with Harlequin hops for tropical fruit flavours. Old Speckled Hen is a household name when it comes to enjoying a refreshing ale at home and we continue to consider how our consumers socialise and how this then impacts their drinking preferences.”

Camden Town Brewery Lager Top

The Hop Foundry Pale Ales

USP: Produced by Seven Brothers Brewing, two new flavoured Pale Ales – Watermelon and Pineapple – will be launched in Aldi this month under The Hop Foundry brand. The beers look to tap into summer drinking occasions, and will be available in 1,200 Aldi stores until September.

Innis & Gunn Islay Whisky Cask Beer

USP: Launching on April 30, Innis & Gunn is launching its new Whisky Cask Beer in collaboration with Scotch whisky producer Laphroaig. The limited-edition beer is a Scottish red ale which has been aged in Laphroaig whisky casks. It will be available in a gift box designed by contemporary Glasgow-born artist, Peter King.

Pillars Brewery x William Morris Gallery Vienna Lager

Cornish Orchards Avalen cider

USP: Made from two native Cornish cultivars, Cornish Longstem and Captain John Broad apples, the cider is fermented and processed in the same way as Champagne, at Cornish winery Camel Valley. The release is limited to 5,000 bottles.

Purity Pure Pilsner

USP: Made from locally sourced British hops including Jester, Goldings, Challenger, and Pilgrim, alongside East Anglian malts, the beer “supports Purity’s Pure Eco values ensuring the brewery’s carbon footprint is kept to an absolute minimum”. The brewer said the launch reflects consumers’ changing consumption habits, with the increase in daytime and early-evening food and experience-led social activities driving demand for lower abv drinks.

Les Jamelles Reflets Secrets rosé

USP: Languedoc producer Delaunay Vins & Domaines, has launched a new Pays d’Oc rosé under its flagship Les Jamelles brand. The wine blends classic Languedoc varietals – grenache, cinsault and syrah – with mourvèdre.

Côte des Roses Art Edition 2023

USP: Languedoc wine producer, Gérard Bertrand, and his daughter and director of creation, Emma Bertrand, have collaborated with Australian artist, Morgan Jamieson, to add a new limited-edition rosé to the Côte des Roses portfolio. Packaged in a glass bottle, with a rose shaped base and a sustainable glass stopper, the design of the Côte des Roses Art Edition 2023 is directly screen printed on the bottle. Côte des Roses Art Edition 2023 is a certified organic rosé wine from AOP Languedoc, blended from Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah grapes.

Graham’s 50 Year Old Tawny Port
