Naked Wines is to promote Rodrigo Maza (pictured) to the role of chief executive officer.

Maza, who joined Naked as UK managing director in September 2023, will shadow executive chairman Rowan Gormley over the next few months to “ensure a successful transition”.

Following the switch, Maza will assume the group CEO role, while Gormley will resume his previous post as non-executive chairman. Maza will join the board with immediate effect.

Naked has also appointed Emma Kamel, formerly COO of the UK business, to succeed Maza as general manager of the UK business.  Kamel has around six years of experience with Naked, including as commercial and supply chain director.

Gormley said: “We are delighted to welcome Maza as CEO designate. In his short time with us he has proven his ability to energise his team to get Naked back on the growth path, and his previous experience has a compelling combination of entrepreneurial startups and big company best practice, both of which we are going to need.”

Gormley took up the executive chairman position in November 2023, after then-CEO Nick Devlin stepped down.
