Rock band Motörhead has moved into spirits with the launch of a dark rum, vodka and single malt whisky.

The Motörhead Rock ‘n’ Roll Rebellion Spirits portfolio includes a Premium Dark Rum, which has been aged for eight years in ex-bourbon barrels. The rum originates from the Dominican Republic and is full-bodied with notes of chocolate, arrack and vanilla, with a spicy finish.

Its Motörhead Vodka is smooth enough to drink over ice, the producer said, and yet “still bold enough to stand out in the crowd when combined with your favourite mixer”.

And the Motörhead Single Malt Whisky is made in collaboration with Swedish whisky experts, Mackmyra. The whisky is matured in new American oak barrels for five years, resulting in an easy to drink, oaky and spicy whisky, with aromas of tobacco and anise and a character of citrus and almonds.

Sarah Gandy, Marketing Head of Marketing at Marussia Brands says: “The team couldn’t be more excited to be working on the Motörhead brand. We feel that there’s an exciting opportunity to utilise the incredible distilling of Angela D’orazio skills with the rebel spirit of Motörhead in the bars of the UK and homes of the UK Rum, Whiskey and Vodka fans”.

The drinks have recommended price tags of £37.99 for the rum, £29.99 for the vodka and £69.64 for the whisky.
