Online retailer Master of Malt has stopped selling beer, as it looks to focus on other categories.

The spirit-led retailer’s beer section, which had listed brands such as Moosehead, Magic Rock and Thornbridge, currently shows all options to be sold out.

Giovana Petry, who heads up the Master of Malt brand and subscriptions, said the company is putting its spirits heritage at the forefront this year.

“Over the past years we have added and removed products (such as beer) based on their merits as well as consumer trends and demands. As we come into 2024, we are putting our spirits heritage front and centre stage, so we can focus on building the best portfolio available anywhere, but we aren’t ignoring our extensive, evolving selection of wines and champagnes. We also want to educate our customers on those things that are happening within the drinks world that will affect them, so they can make informed decisions when purchasing or deciding what category to explore next.”

Petry said that as a business, Master of Malt is “continuously looking at what our focus should be in the future”.

Master of Malt was acquired by Budweiser owner AB InBev in 2018.
