UK spirits distributor Mangrove Global has expanded its agave offering after securing distribution for family owned tequila brand Arette.
Produced in the heart of the Jalisco region, Arette is owned by the fifth-generation Orendain family and made at the historic El Llano Distillery. The distillery is one of the region’s oldest, using estate-grown blue Weber agave and mineral-rich spring water sourced locally.
Mangrove said the addition reflects continued momentum behind agave spirits in the UK, with the distributor set to roll out both its Clásico and Artesanal lines.
Eduardo Orendain, chief commercial officer at Arette, said: “We are proud of the progress made so far in the UK market – but with Mangrove we hope to position Arette as an exceptional choice for discerning tequila drinkers; people with taste and appreciation of the craft.
“Arette honours greatness, tradition, and history, because quality is considered and prioritised at every step of the process. That’s what sets Arette apart, and we can’t wait to see how Mangrove will bring that to life for UK consumers.”
Mangrove MD Nick Gillett added that the brand aligns closely with the distributor’s focus on provenance and quality.
“The demand for agave spirits is increasing rapidly in the UK as we catch up with what these liquids have to offer. Arette offers the true taste of Jalisco, mastered over five generations of family distilling,” he said.
The distributor will handle seven SKUs in total, including Clásico Blanco and Reposado, plus the Artesanal range spanning Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, Fuerte and Gran Clase.
Mangrove, which was acquired by Martinique-based GBH in 2023, has continued to scale its premium portfolio in recent years, including distribution of SPIRIBAM rums.
