Maison Saint Aix from Provence has appointed Liberty Wines as its UK agent after previously being imported exclusively by Mentzendorff.

Known for its AIX Rosé, the estate was founded by Dutch entrepreneur Eric Kurver in 2009 and remains family owned.

Certified organic and farmed biodynamically, the vineyard is a 75ha single plot planted with old vines on limestone-rich soil.

Its best-known AIX Rosé Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence is a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault. Meanwhile, the AIX White Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence is made up of Rolle and Sauvignon Blanc.

On welcoming Saint Aix, Liberty Wines CEO Tom Platt, said: “We are delighted to be working with Maison Saint Aix, whose focus on sustainability matches our own commitment as a Carbon Neutral Plus company.

“Their AIX Rosé is a quintessential expression of Provence, delivering consistent purity and precision in every bottle. We believe the breadth of formats available offer our customers a great opportunity to respond to consumer demands for larger format bottles for sharing and thereby grow their Provence Rosé sales.”

Pierre-Adrien Fleurant, general manager of Maison Saint Aix, added: “The UK has always been an important market for AIX, and we are delighted to embark on this partnership with Liberty Wines. Their deep market expertise and strong network make them the ideal partner to further strengthen our presence and introduce our wines to even more wine enthusiasts nationwide.

“We would also like to sincerely thank Mentzendorff, whose support and collaboration have played a vital role in bringing our brand to where it is today.”
