The organisers of London Wine Fair have said they anticipate Portugal and Asia as key areas of growth—both in the global wine market and at its own event.
Discussing the fair, organisers said: “Portugal will have its largest presence in recent years; 44 wineries with Vini Portugal having already committed to exhibit in the Wines Unearthed section, which represents wineries looking to export to the UK—twice as many as in 2023, when they last exhibited.”
The show will also see stand spaces from China almost double. Among these, Chinese wine specialist importer Vinum Eurus will return to the show, representing 10 wineries from China.
The Japan Pavilion will also have a 50% larger stand this year.
London Wine Fair has announced that 87% of the show’s space is either confirmed or reserved, a 9% year on year increase.
Head of London Wine Fair, Hannah Tovey, said: “Our growth is largely coming from the so-called emerging territories: China; Japan; Romania and Serbia, as well as those countries which are seeing a resurgence, such as Portugal.”
The wine fair takes place in May.
