Licor 43 is adding a vegan variant to its line up in the UK, to tap into the growing popularity of dairy-free liqueurs.

Licor 43 Horchata is made from the Spanish tiger nut and cinnamon horchata drink from Valencia, blended with Licor 43. It will have the same price tag as the original variant at £18.

Julian Hernandez, global marketing and innovation director for spirits at Zamora Company, said: “Innovation has long lain at the heart of Licor 43, and with Licor 43 Horchata we wanted a delicious product in the cream liqueur category that also meets the growing Consumer demand for lighter and non-dairy alternatives.

“Our philosophy is to offer to an increasingly demanding Consumer exciting liquids and experiences to enjoy with family and friends during their after-meal moments.”

Licor 43 Original was first launched in 1946 and uses a 70-year-old secret family recipe of 43 natural ingredients, including selected Mediterranean citrus fruits and botanicals. The horchata is the iconic national drink of Spain based on a traditional recipe from Valencia, which blends the ‘milk’ of tiger nuts, spice and citrus.
