The window for retailers to nominate themselves for the Drinks Retailing Awards 2026 is almost closed.

The deadline for entries is 8 August 2025. Independent retailers operating between one and ten stores are invited to put themselves forward for as many categories as they wish, as entry is free.

The awards bring together supermarkets, independent retailers and sponsors for an opportunity to celebrate excellence in the UK off-trade.

Master of Malt, who won the Online Drinks Retailer of the Year category last year, said “the DRAs remains one of the biggest nights in the UK drinks industry’s calendar”.

The categories for independents are: Newcomer, Beer & Cider Retailer, Spirits Retailer, Wine Retailer, Drinks Retailer, Champagne & Sparkling Wine Retailer, Convenience Drinks, Specialist Online Retailer, Bar & Shop, Luxury Retailer, Excellence in Training & Education and Regional Group.

Once entries close, a rigorous judging process begins which includes mystery shops, interviews with finalists and lastly, an expert panel discussion.

The complete list of finalists is published in the January 2026 edition of Drinks Retailing, before the winners are revealed at the awards ceremony on 4 February 2026, which is held at the Dorchester Hotel in London. Shortlisted independents receive hotel accommodation near the venue and a complimentary three course meal on the night. 

Last year, winners included Spirited, for Newcomer of the Year, Vinotopia Wine, for Independent Drinks Retailer of the Year, and Beer Park, for Independent Beer & Cider Retailer of the Year.

After winning Independent Wine Retailer of the Year in 2025, Kate Goodman, founder of Reserve Wines said: “This award is a reflection of the passion knowledge and enthusiasm that our team brings to everything we do. This win is for the entire team, our customers and everyone who supports us – we couldn’t be prouder!”.
